Dreams Drifting in the Distance by PoeticMindset

the rose petal bloomed
in a dream last night

you know that Nature show in fast-forward kind of bloom where they speed up the film
and the clouds
slip further into the remoteness of tomorrow
white blur past the still blue of sky

somewhere in the distance a bird chips in silence

but in the dream
the blur of silence
into the madness
of mind's delineation
of an unknown reality

the dream continues

there was snow etched across the petals in delicate detail
edges frayed from biting cold and wind

a dream

I was standing in a parka
with the fur sticking out

that childhood olive drab parka
remembered only through pictures stored in tattered shoe boxes
