He Calls Me by SallyBrowne

He calls my name
Early in the morning
silence seal the rooster’s mouth
And every thing seem unreal
And every touch like a dream
He calls me
“Not baby- no!”
He calls me by name
Repeatedly.

Painting my face in his brain
slowly~ with his soft brush tongue
Close his eyes humming a harmonious song
“John wants”
Stirring under sheets cotton balls thread
beneath. Stringing needle deep
In the wee hours of sweet dreams

He calls me
And I answer aloud
Unseal the rooster’s mouth
I’m coming
